The SFL is proud to announce that former NFL player Ryan Moats is joining the Simulation Football League. A verbal agreement reached last week names Moats the league’s first Chief Brand Officer (CBO) and co-owner with Commissioner Cameron Irvine.

“The SFL platform has so much potential and I am excited to be one of the chief architects to develop and build the SFL experience to a new level,” Moats said. “We want our user base to immerse themselves into a deep rich experience that allows them to come back every year with expectations that anything is possible here at SFL.”

Moats currently serves as the Vice President of the NFL Alumni Association, drafted in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2005. During his career, Moats played for the Eagles, Cardinals, Texans and Vikings.

Moats served as a senior consultant and game designer for Electronic Arts from 2005-2011, where he created the first authentic game entrance for the Madden series and was contracted to redesign the game’s super star mode. Moats today is the Chief Creative Director of Moatsworks Studios and the Assistant Athletic Director for Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas.

“Moats’ resume is exactly what this league needs – a long-awaited shot in the arm,” Irvine said. “His vision for the future, to take the Simulation Football League to its greatest heights is absolutely invigorating. For seven years, we’ve grown this model, an opportunity for all to #belegendary. Moats will help us achieve just that.”

Expect more announcements from the league office relating to Moats’ involvement, 2018 league initiatives and new league partnerships and investors in the coming months.

The league’s ninth season is ongoing – the commemorative 10th Anniversary season hits the field in January 2018.
