The 6th season of the Minor League is coming and the SFL is excited to bring all the action to SFL YouTube once more. The same eight teams will return, but there’s lots of new faces to the coaching ranks around SFLm. Marco Swift (played for Albuquerque) takes over in Lexington, Jae Hayden heads Annapolis, Robert Cherry (played for Madison) will lead the charge in Ottawa and Michael Percoco got the promotion in Madison.

The schedule is headlined by a 5th Championship Game rematch in Week 6, when Albuquerque heads to Ottawa.

Other schedule headlines include:

  • 2x champion Albuquerque will face 2x champion Madison in a heavyweight bout Week 1, in Madison’s home opener.
  • Swift will face the team he played for in Week 2 when his old team – the Atoms – welcome the Miners of Lexington.
  • Cherry meets the team he played for when Ottawa clashes with Madison in Canada Week 3.
  • Lincoln and Tacoma – who produced a 45-40 shootout last season – will meet to start this season in Nebraska.
  • Just like the SFL, all teams who face off Week 1 will have a rematch the final week of the regular season – Week 8.
  • One team – Ottawa – ends the season with two games on the road. One team – Tacoma – starts the season with two games on the road.

Effective October 8, all player subscriptions will be going up $2 a month to cover increased league operation costs as the league continues to grow and to continue to ensure that all players are paying the same price. Current members are being made aware early so they can lock in the current rate before it increases. The SFL will always ensure that it does not become a pay-to-win or pay-to-perform league, to protect all of its players and their abilities to build a Hall-of-Fame career. The SFL and SFLm now have a combined 714 active players and produces over 400 live events per year. A notification will also be shown on the player progression portal ahead of the change.
