The Simulation Football League presented by APM Music has approved Mike St. Green as Joint Owner of the Houston franchise, which has been re-branded to the Houston HeadHunters starting with the Summer 2022 season.

St. Green has been a Wide Receiver in Jacksonville and London prior to his move to his hometown, where the Hyenas have called home since Season 6. St. Green has also served as the lead Studio Analyst for television broadcasts over the last three seasons. Former Majority Owner Demond Simien serves as the team’s other Joint Owner.

“When I first came into the SFL like many others in this league I had goals and ambitions,” St. Green said. “One those goals was to own a team in this league. But where would that be considering my home city was already represented? I can’t begin to express how grateful and appreciative that I am to be a co-owner of a team in the city that I love. Thank you to Demond Simien for offering me this opportunity and I’m looking forward to building a first-class organization in Houston. Hunting season opens July 11, 2022.”

The HeadHunters sport a black, brick red and copper look, featuring a skull prominent in both the primary and secondary marks. The secondary logo uses the horns of the skull as the cross in the H, representing Houston and the team’s wordmark features aggressive, sharp and angled text.

The team’s official hashtags – #jointhehunt and #collectingtrophies – will be rallying cries for the team. During the franchise’s time as the Hyenas, SFL in Houston has collected 79 wins – 9th most all-time. The Hyenas made the Championship Game in their first season and have racked up four playoff wins since.

Also joining the organization is Cory and Butch Mennor. Butch will be serving as the team’s General Manager and Cory takes the title of Director of Communications. Butch has played with the Charleston Predators, London Knights and most recently with the Queen City Corsairs while Cory held the same Director of Communications position in Charleston.

The team’s new identity – along with at least five other fresh identities in the SFL for Season 19 – will first be on display during the 2022 Kickoff Weekend / SFL Convention at HyperX Esports Arena Monday July 11 inside the Luxor Resort in Las Vegas.
