With the start of fall comes the release of the SFLm Season 4 schedule. All games are back on YouTube Fridays with nine teams. The Annapolis Navigators and Boise MudDogs return, while the Albuquerque Atoms and Birmingham Fuel will be taking the season off. Returning teams include the Lexington Miners, Madison Lynx, Memphis River Runners, Ottawa Cavalry, Salt Lake City Rustlers, San Jose Flight and Tacoma Grizzlies.
Week 1 will feature a Championship rematch with San Jose traveling to face the defending champs in Salt Lake. Other matchups include Boise’s return to the field at Tacoma, Annapolis will host old rival Ottawa and Memphis visits Lexington.
The regular season (9 weeks) will run through Friday December 17, taking the weekend off of Friday November 12 due to the Commissioner’s wedding. Semifinals will be played on Wednesday December 22 and the Championship will be Monday December 27. The SFL Rookie Draft is slated for Thursday December 30 and Saturday January 1, 2022. The SFL’s 18th season is expected to start Saturday January 15.
The full schedule of SFLm matchups and bye weeks is below:
Schedule notes –
- Annapolis won’t venture out on the road until Week 4 when they’ll face Memphis. The Navigators also are the only team with the unlucky draw of playing the two teams from last season’s Championship – San Jose and Salt Lake – back-to-back in Weeks 6 and 7.
- Madison and Memphis end up with the first and last bye weeks, respectively. The Lynx won’t have their home opener until Week 4 against Ottawa, while the River Runners will play 4 of 5 at home from week’s 3-7
- Including the bye, Ottawa will spend a whole month north of the border, hosting Memphis before a bye, followed by home games against Boise and Salt Lake.
- All players progress each week. This includes both the individual byes for each team, as well as the universal bye week following November 12. This will give each player another 10 weeks to improve their player before the draft.
