Hunter Norwood (HN): Thank you for checking in for another edition of JaxData’s Elo Power Rankings. If you are interested in possibly joining the team in either an analyst role or content role please reach out to me by DM on Discord (Xivilai47#0421). We are looking into potentially branching out into a general SFL brand to give us and others space and support for larger projects within the SFL data landscape. Enjoy!
Jack Wall couldn’t be here this week as he was to busy on the campaign trail for Diva Of The Week.
Biggest movers: Fort Worth Toros(+4), Tulsa Desperados(+4), Los Angeles Lycans(-3), Atlanta Swarm(-3), Louisiana Revolution(-3), Arizona Scorpions(-3)
(-)1. Denver Nightwings (8-1)
HN: The difference between #1 and #2 here is not even close to be clear. Baltimore was pretty close earlier in the season but now I don’t think anyone will catch Denver unless they tank late or it would have to be in the playoffs.
(+2)2. Florida Storm (7-2)
(-1)3. Baltimore Vultures (6-3)
HN: Congratulations are in order for the Baltimore ownership group as they reach 100 career wins as owners/coaches. 45 of those coming from the Crabs franchise and now an additional 55 from the Vultures franchise. As far as how quickly they made it there it is not faster than Frank Goodin’s mark of 100 in 152 games as they did 100 in 156 games. Interesting note here: the Crabs won 45 in 78 and now the Vultures have won 55 in 78 and they hit 100 wins so progress is definitely being made.
(+2)4. Jacksonville Kings (6-3)
HN: Jacksonville took sole ownership of most wins for a single franchise/Head Coach at 103 wins as Queen City fell this past week and stalled at 102.
(-2)5. Vancouver Legion (5-4)
HN: Good luck to Andy and the Legion as they go on the road to face San Diego in their 100th game in franchise history!
(-1)6. Mexico City Aztecs (6-3)
(+3)7. Lone Star Glory (5-4)
(+4)8. Fort Worth Toros (6-3)
(+2)9. Charleston Predators (5-4)
(-3)10. Atlanta Swarm (4-5)
(-3)11. Louisiana Revolution (3-6)
(-3)12. Los Angeles Lycans (5-4)
(-)13. Houston Hyenas (5-4)
HN: Houston’s loss holds their win total firmly at 69 wins overall. Nice!
(-)14. Las Vegas Fury (5-4)
(+1)15. Sioux Falls Sparrows (3-6)
(+4)16. Tulsa Desperados (5-4)
(+1)17. Carolina Skyhawks (5-4)
HN: With Carolina’s win this past week they have managed to concede their lead of most losses for a single franchise(I’m not counting Kailua/Honolulu) with Queen City taking over at 87 losses all-time.
(-3)18. Arizona Scorpions (4-5)
(-2)19. St. Louis Gladiators (5-4)
(-1)20. Queen City Corsairs (3-6)
(-)21. London Knights (4-5)
(-)22. D.C. Dragons (1-8)
(-)23. Portland Fleet (2-7)
(-)24. San Diego Mavericks (0-9)
If you’ve read this far I would like to thank you for taking the time to pore over another bit of SFL content. If you enjoy what you’ve read and/or seen then please head on over to the Twitters and drop us a follow @JaxData. Once there you’ll be able to look over our behind the scenes posts that detail the three sheets that make up these aggregated rankings. If you stick around long enough at JaxData you will see some fun stats like Pythagorean Projected Wins or possibly teams odds at winning the title. We might even show you how each statistical category affects the outcome of a game. All that and more here at the first and only Data Department of the SFL.
