Players of the Week – Week 4

Just as sure as the stars shine bright illuminating the night sky, the stars of the SFL shine there lights by making an impact on the field. Week 4 is in the books and it was riddled with the agony of defeat and the sheer excitement of winning. A quarter of the season is gone and these players definitely left a mark on the field, and in our hearts.  Our picks will go down in history forevermore, and now here are the top performers for Week 4.

Offensive Player of the Week goes to Mr. ET King, Quarterback of Chicago Wildcats. The Wildcats put up big numbers against the London knights scoring 40 -13 and King had a lot to do with that. He had 15 completions out of 18 attempts for 171 passing yards and no interceptions. He also had 4 TDs, an 83.33 completion percentage, and his QBR 107.9. A true veteran performance like this shows what we should aspire to be like. Congratulations ET and don’t forget to phone home about this performance!!!

Runner up for OPOTW is Mr. DJ Moses Halfback for the Arizona Scorpions. In his staggering great performance, he helped the Scorpions win their game over the Jacksonville Kings 17-38 in a battle that most thought they would lose. He had 27 carries for 122 yards and 84 rec yards combined for over 200 total yards. And to top things off he also had 3 touchdowns as well. Hey DJ keep playing that song all night!! Congrats!!

Defensive Player of the Week is Strong Safety, Mr. Tank Bennett of the Louisiana Revolution. Even though they suffered a loss to the Mexico City Aztecs 37-21 ending their undefeated streak, Bennett stayed busy on the field protecting the secondary as best as he could. He had 13 tackles, 3 assists 1 pass deflection. He also had 2 INTs for 89 yards with a long of 56 which was almost a pick 6. Even when the chips were down, he made a difference by giving it his all. Congratulations Tank and continue to roll on!

Runner up for DPOTW is Mr.Todd Duppstadt, Defensive End for the ST. Louis Gladiators. Duppstatdt helped strike fear in the quarterback in their 20-3 win over the Tulsa Desperados. With his 4 tackles, 2 assists, 3 Sacks, and 3 TFL he is on his way to making a great run for most sacks this season. Congrats on the Dub Todd!!

Special Teams:

Special Teams Player of the week is Mr. Whistle Jones, Kicker for the Carolina Skyhawks. The Skyhawks put on a fantastic performance winning 18-15 over the Portland Fleet. It came down Jones and his strong leg to score a game-winning field goal as time expired, almost stopping coach Prasad heart momentarily. He made 4 field goals out of 4 attempts and his longest kick was 46 yards. While he had to overcome a blocked extra point attempt we don’t hold this poor blocking against him, it was just another hurdle for him to overcome in leading his team to victory. Congrats Mr. Jones and remember to “Whistle” while you work!

Runner up for Special teams POTW is Mr. Sammy Steele, Kicker for the Atlanta Swarm. Championship Swarm stung the Charleston Predators 26-13 and Sammy helped in a major way. With his leg of “Steele”, he was able to make 4 field goals out of 4 attempts and his longest kick was 43 yards. Kudos for knowing how to “Steele” the win! Congrats Sammy!
