Denton, TX – The Simulation Football League’s (SFL) 14th Championship Game will be broadcasted live Sunday April 26 at 3 p.m. ET on Eleven Sports and For the Fans television network in a matchup between the Sioux Falls Sparrows (10-4) and the Atlanta Swarm (12-2), both in the Championship Game for the first time in 16 combined seasons.
Commissioner Cameron Irvine, who has called every Championship Game in the league’s history, will be on play-by-play. Cade Stephens will be on analysis, in his first Championship Game. Stephen Hacker and Robert Garrett Jr. will represent the statistics team, working behind the scenes to provide real-time analytical data. Additionally, 252 ESPN in Greenville/New Bern, North Carolina will carry the game for local Carolina Skyhawks fans and listeners.
The broadcast will feature a 15 minute pregame, with a feature on the Swarm and Atlanta’s starting quarterback Marcus Dunhill, highlights from the first week of the SFL Minor League, a walk down memory lane with the Sparrows franchise who has competed in nine-straight SFL seasons, Cade Stephen’s Keys to the Game for both Atlanta and Sioux Falls, plus the unveiling of two new expansion teams coming into the league – bringing the league to a record-high 22 teams – including interviews with some of the new owners as the SFL braces for another intense off-season of signings, free agency, the minor league, rookie draft and more.
It will also feature a 25 minute halftime presented by Apple Rush that includes the Hurricane Shane Band, Tampa Bay’s Ultimate Party Band and check-ins with coaches/players with their thoughts from the first half.
The Swarm, SFL’s No. 1 seed in the playoffs, finished the regular season 10-2 and has not lost at home since August 26, 2019. The Sparrows, the No. 3 seed, are 0-3 all-time on the road in the playoffs but has never faced Atlanta in the postseason and has only once faced Atlanta in Georgia, back on March 19, 2017. The Swarm won 17-13.
