Queen City Chasing #5, Why It WILL happen:

Queen City has been a steady force in the playoffs, currently with the longest active playoff streak (S5 – S12, an SFL record) and an SFL-best 4 championship titles. The “moment” is clearly not too big for the Corsairs, led by owner Erik Barkley, has proven when the stakes are the highest QCC will take #NoQuarter. Barkley expects greatness from top to bottom, and is the first to take blame when tides are rough and always seems to right the ship.

AJ Caswell leads Queen City to victory over their rivals in Baltimore

The Corsairs offense has major weapons highlighted by Ash Odom, who surpassed 6,000 career rush yards this season and is a threat for six anytime he touches the rock. QB AJ Caswell (21 touchdowns:13 interceptions) has shown great decision making and precision feeding his WR corps. Veteran and multi-season broadcaster Chris Curtis naturally took the leadership role for rookie Stephen Hacker (the fourteenth overall pick), who also broadcasts for the SFL. This WR duo combined for all of Caswell’s touchdowns and over 2,200 receiving yards.

The defense is led by linebacker Avry King, who broke the single season tackle record (155). King has been a monster for QCC using his power to fill gaps and stuff the run, teams trying to throw to the flats or run outside will shutdown by King’s amazing sideline to sideline speed. Jeff Duffy makes the push in the trenches routinely drawing double teams, clearing up the way for King. Duffy has made his push in the sack department late in the season. With Duffy generating pressure, the Corsairs secondary led by safety GM Nacho Sicario, do a great job keeping the play in front of them and applying pressure when needed. Zane Doty routinely has 10+ tackle games, and those aren’t from completed passes. Rookie Pharaoh Reigns has made splash plays all season, and regularly knocks passes down when targeted.

Queen City is hungry for a title, overcoming a near mid-season collapse – the Corsairs are right where they expect to be, in the playoffs with wind in their sails and the title in sight.
