Offensive Player of the Week

AJ Caswell, Quarterback, Queen City Corsairs – 17/21, 311 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT, 138.5 QBR, 1 Rushing TD

AJ Caswell did a bit of everything against the Skyhawks. Tossing three touchdowns to just one interception and completing 80.9 percent of his passes is impressive enough, but he managed to add a rushing touchdown in that game as well, his fourth on the season. This game also marked Caswell’s first 300-yard performance of the season.

Honorable Mention: Jeff Comeau, Wide Recevier – 11 catches, 163 yards, 3 TDs, 14.8 YPC

What. A. Game. While his teammate Robert Merrill got the catch to send Alaska to 12-0, Jeff Comeau had the better game overall. The 24-point comeback against the Fury was in large part due to Comeau, who came away with three receiving touchdowns in an epic comeback that might go down as the best game this season.

Defensive Player of the Week

Max Jackson, Strong Safety, Las Vegas Fury – 9 total tackles, 2 INTs, 1 TD

On the other end of the comeback we have Max Jackson. While Jackson’s Fury would ultimately fall just short in overtime against the Storm, that shouldn’t diminish the game he had. Jackson made two of Ron Cockren’s six interceptions, taking one back for six. On top of racking up nine total tackles on the day, Jackson can walk off the field knowing that there isn’t much more he could have done here.

Honorable Mention – EZ Tempel, Defensive Tackle 4 sacks, 5 total tackles

Following a historic performance last week, we find EZ Tempel back in the Player of the Week discussion this time. His four sacks this week help show that last week was no fluke, and he now has recorded two or more sacks in six straight games. The scary part is he still has a game to go, and if he can pull off another multi-sack game he will have more multi-sack games than he will have non-multi-sack games.
