The Simulation Football League after months of work is proud to announce that Hilton Garden Inn is the Official Hotel of the SFL Convention and that the SFL Convention has received financial support from the Irving CVB, more specifically the BizDip program – Business Development Incentive Program.

“We’re so excited for the landmark event that is quickly approaching,” said Commissioner Cameron Irvine. “These events don’t just happen. There are months of planning, many people and many moving pieces involved. We want to put on a first-class event for our community. They deserve it.”

The SFL Convention page is live on our website at: http://https://new.simulationfl.net/sfl-convention-july-13-15/ . There you will be able to book your hotel room. Our group rate is $89 for a single king or multiple members of the SFL community can go in on a double-queen room together – $89 total (two people to a room would cost $45 per person, three people would cost $30 per person, four people would cost $22 per person).

The SFL has booked 40 rooms for this event. It has an opportunity to get more, but only if the 40 rooms reserved sell through. If rooms are not selling through, Hilton reserves the right to begin selling those rooms to other groups who are in need. The SFL is asking all of it’s participants to purchase their room in the next 30 days – to ensure we have enough rooms and that those rooms can be purchased at our group rate. For every room the SFL sells at the Hilton Garden Inn, the SFL benefits financially to help support the events budget, including helping members of the SFL community that are in desperate need of small funds helpful to get them here.

“It is important that we prove to the Hilton – and future partners of the league – that we are legitimate and that our sim football community is not one that is only of fantasy, and not reality,” Irvine said. “I am confident in our expected attendance for this event. We will not let down our partners in this venture.”

The Hilton Garden Inn completed a $3 million renovation in August, 2017 and is listed online as a 3-star hotel. Guest rooms feature

  • Complimentary WIFI Internet
  • Refrigerator, microwave oven and Keurig cup coffeemaker
  • Large work desk with convenient desk-level outlets, adjustable lighting and ergonomic chair
  • Comfortable premium bed with crisp, fresh duvet & linens
  • Hair dryer, iron and ironing board
  • Flat screen HDTV with on-demand movies, video games and complimentary HBO®

The SFL Convention will officially begin Friday at 5 p.m. with a meet-and-greet at Showbusiness Studios, but league members will be gathering before that at the hotel. A free shuttle service will be provided to get guests to and from the Studios and the hotel all three days. At 6 p.m., the league will officially welcome all to the SFL Convention and snacks will be available. At 7 p.m. the league will entertain its guests for dinner – all food and alcohol (specific hours) costs will be covered by the SFL and Showbusiness Studios during the weekend, but within walking distance of the hotel is: Mi Cocina, Salt Grass Steak House, Fish City, Cheddar’s, Original Pancake House, Wendy’s, Chick-fil-a, McDonald’s, Subway, Panera and Corner Bakery Cafe.

Following dinner, the SFL will induct it’s first Hall-of-Fame class. Those Hall-of-Famers will have guests to speak on their behalf and will get to speak themselves and will be given their Hall-of-Fame jackets – a one-of-a-kind honor. Hall-of-Fame voting details will be determined at a later date.

After the Hall-of-Fame inductions, Cameron Irvine and Steven Mullenax will call the Opening Night Kickoff Game presented by APM Music. The opening night matchup and the Hall-of-Fame will be broadcasted on Twitch front page, pending the league’s new agreement on Season 11 front-page broadcasts.

The league has an option to privately book the hotel courtyard space for the evening until 2 a.m. A donation from the community will be required for us to reserve that space as it is not factored into the budget of this event.

Saturday will be an epic day of SFL action, with a double-dose of called games all day. Snacks will be served the entire day, with a boxed lunch and “gameday food” on the menu for dinner. In an afternoon break from the action, the league will make major announcements on the future of the SFL and it’s goals to be a profitable and successful business venture over the next few years. Action will continue throughout the day, allowing league participants to interact with one another, conduct interviews for film and have a great time with fellow owners, coaches and teammates. Showbusiness Studios with the SFL is involved in producing and telling the league’s story through a future documentary or mini-series that may stand on its own or be rolled into production with another sports title. Finalization of these details are still in the works.

Sunday, the league will give owners an opportunity to discuss their experiences of the weekend and their time in the SFL. Who knows, maybe we’ll do a roast! However we spend our last few hours before heading home – it will be a good time!
