The impressive Alaska Storm improved to 2-0 after a win against the Houston Hyenas which drops them to 0-2.  This was a clash of defenses as the two teams beat on each other for all 44 minutes with only 1 touchdown coming out of either team.

Alaska’s superstar WR Optimus Cline was fairly held in check compared to last week as he almost surpassed 300 receiving yards. But this time he only had 7 receptions for 76 yards. The Hyenas defense was able to keep Alaska quiet only allowing one TD which came on a 13 yard touchdown pass from Cockren to rookie TE Yasin Clifton.  Alaska’s touted defense was able to do just a bit better, holding Houston to less than 230 yards of total offense and chasing down Ahmed Cheema 3 times, with Big Sexy getting there once, of course.

Houston’s offense once again looked puzzled and could not get anything going. If Houston wants to win games, they must fix that slow moving offense.  Their defense however, kept one of the hottest offenses coming out of Week 1 to 13 points and less than 300 yards of total offense.  CB Ryan Michaels batted 4 balls down in coverage while Blake Chance racked up 8 total tackles.

Houston stays home next week and hosts the struggling 0-2 Dallas Ruffnecks.

The Alaska Storm welcome the shiny and surprising San Antonio Vaqueros in a battle of 2 undefeated teams.
