London, GB –
The London Knights will be facing foes of varying familiarity in Season 10 after the League announced the new alignments for the West, East and newly created Central Conferences.
The Knights will be taking their place in the East Conference in what is already being popularly described as the strongest of the three conferences. Four of last seasons eight playoff teams are included in the East Conference and the reigning champion Mexico City Aztecs and Queen City Corsairs account for five of the nine SFL Championship titles between them.
The Knights most obvious rivalry games are with both of the two Championship winning teams. The Knights and Aztecs will face off in the SFL International Series as the only non-US series in the Regular Season. Queen City are London’s closest rival by distance, with their match up already being dubbed the “Lord Nelson Classic”.
The surprise inclusion of the Aztecs into the East Conference means that the London coaching staff will be facing off against at least one conference opponent for the first time. The Atlanta Swarm and Carolina Skyhawks have previous with London Owner and Head Coach Liam Crowter. Crowter was part of the staff team in St. Louis that defeated Atlanta to help Carolina to a Season 8 playoff spot in the last week of the regular season.
