After an 0-2 start, San Antonio has continued to struggle while Dallas is starting to rise up. Quarterback Shabazz Psynergy had another 400 game – now leads the league in passing – and Dallas pulled further ahead of their new Texas rivals with a 30-20 victory in the heat of the Alamo City Sunday afternoon.
Psynergy passed for 397 yards (32-of-46, 2 TD, 4 INT) and rushed for another 28 yards and a touchdown. With the score, Psynergy becomes the first SFL quarterback in league history to score three rushing touchdowns, and is now just 46 yards behind Daniel Garcia for most rushing yards in a career by a quarterback. Dallas jumped out to a 10-0 advantage and got 100-yard efforts from Juan Bosco and Jonathan Concord. The Ruffneck defense picked off Vaqueros quarterback Joey Langdon six times, twice Jun Fiyero and Jace Jefferson contributed. While Troy Loshaw didn’t record a takeaway, he did lead the defense with 15 tackles. San Antonio running back Jason German continues to work up the running back rankings – he had 173 yards on just 18 carries. Shane Hornish led the defense with 10 tackles.
San Antonio has also-winless Vancouver this week in a critical game at the bottom of the Western Conference. Dallas will face an Alaska team on the road the Ruffnecks lost to at home in Week 1.
