The Sparrows have the Renegades number. For the third season in a row, OKC came to South Dakota and fell short, this season a 27-17 loss after leading 10-3 late in the first half. One of the best safeties in league history – Billy Joe Casper – gave up an all-too-easy touchdown just before the end of the first half, the Renegade defense allowed Sioux Falls to take the lead early in the third quarter and then attempting to tie the game at 17, Joseph Redfeather’s pass to Julian Wheeland was off target and picked off by A.J. Levye to grab hold of complete momentum.
Kevin Klancy rushed for 142 yards on 21 carries to pace the run game, while mistake-prone Julian Tyree minimized the damage completing 21 of 26 passes. Receiver Jalan Miller was the real standout, catching eight balls for 142 yards and two critical touchdowns. Levye added nine tackles and three passes defended to his key INT. Ajamu Afolabi reached double digit tackles again with 10.
The Renegades aren’t looking as hot as they were two weeks ago – two wins are against opponents with a combined 0-8 record. OKC hosts unbeaten Mexico City in Week 5. Sioux Falls (2-2) has unbeaten Houston next in H-Town, looking to avenge their Week 1 loss at home.
