Tallahassee had plenty of motivation for humbling the Corsairs at home Tuesday night. After Queen City humbled the Pride in the Eastern Conference Final of Season 8, Tallahassee did the same to the 4x champs, shutting down Kyle Walsh and the Corsair running game in a 42-13 rout.
For the second-straight game since his pay boost, J. Calvin Kim rushed for over 200 yards and scored four touchdowns. Kim leads the league in both categories. Receiver Jared Cochran added two more scores – giving him a league-leading four through the air. The Pride jumped out to a 28-3 halftime lead and while Queen City made a push in the third quarter, the Corsairs never threatened. Prior to the game, Tallahassee owner/head coach believed that if Walsh could be held to under 150 yards, the Pride would win. Walsh had 76 yards on 21 carries.
Tallahassee (2-0) hosts Chicago (2-0) in a primetime showdown that will feature ET King and A.J. Barnes – previous cornerstones of Tallahassee – returning home with their new team, the Wildcats. Queen City hosts Baltimore in a celebration of the league’s 500th game. The two teams have met nine times since Baltimore joined the league in Season 3. The Crabs have won five of the nine meetings, but has lost two straight in Buffalo, including a memorable 20-17 OT victory for Queen City in Season 7’s East Final.
